Twins: I Love It

Thoughts occur to me,
thoughts occur to you.
God shares them with both of us
seemingly out of the blue.

My heart quickly beating and my mind
throws a pure line out to you.
I know what thoughts you’re thinking,
and I know you know my thoughts, too.

New words will form on your lips,
their idea will flood through my mind;
they then will pass through my heart
with utterances not far behind.

(A silent exchange, a human exchange linking my heart to yours, and I like it.)

It’s odd that thinking my thoughts
is so much like thinking yours.
Our brains have been fused together
on God’s supernatural forge.

’cause that’s what lives are about
when they’re joined as our lives have been.
Beyond our imaginations
having nothing to do with sin.

(It’s time that I wrote about it, and left it no longer ignored…)

For we were “breathed out” together
from God’s Benevolent Form;
our hearts run along His true tether
and, for both of us, this is the norm.

We think, we speak, we act as one mind
that God-given unity’s so hard to find…

and I LOVE IT.

Unfailing Arms

I sit safely on the soft shores of Daddy’s Love because He has saved me from the sea of my trifles;

I’m more trouble to myself, at times, than the enemy affords.

God breathes life back into lungs once heavy-laden with sorrow;

the blanket of His rest has lifted downcast eyes. I sit watching from safe shores all the benefits of “plenty”;

all the fruits of His Great Love are now mine to enjoy.

He won’t suffer memories to ripple their travail against the trusty banks of faithfulness that He has lodged in me;

nor will He see my head bowed to fear.

I look down at choppy waters (raging angrily without me) from the high nest of the sanctuary in which He settles me.

The waves bounce and splash about, but they cannot touch me;

I’m enveloped – resting warmly – in Christ’s unfailing arms.

“Your Shout!”

  1. Restore my heart when virtue rises in me and goes out.

Renew my voice, refill my soul, endue me with Your shout!

My Lord, My God, it’s all day long I sing and worship You.

I see Your face and hear Your voice and share them with the few

You have commended to my hands and heart to know Your praise.

Your tongue of Wisdom and of Love I’ll value all my days.

And when my life has ended and my cup has overflown,

my wounds and hurts all mended by the balm that I have known,

I’ll reach up with my hands and with my heart to heights anew,

until my redeemed soul and vital spirit mesh with You.

Refresh my wearied body, Lord, so that I can press on,

and be the Voice within me drawing others to Your Song!

I have no need to fear the evil forces or their pranks,

for Your hand goes before me wreaking havoc in their ranks.

Rest mighty on my focus, God – remove all fear and doubt;

and tumble walls of envy, bursting through them with Your shout!

You’re All I Want – A Song of Desire for Jesus

We Only Want You - DG post

Lord, You’ve made the flowers
But we only want You

You’ve made the sunshine
But we only want You

You’ve made the oceans
But we only want You

You’ve made the mountains
But we only want You

and the sweeping green pastures
But we only want You

Lord, it’s not that we don’t recognize
the deep richness of Your power…

But we desire to be reconciled
to Your heart, above all things!

Lord, You’ve made the sunsets
But we only want You

You’ve made the rainfalls
But we only want You

You’ve made the pebbles
But we only want You

skipping lightly upon the streams.
But we only want You

You’ve made my day break
But we only want You

after nights of suffering
But we only want You

I seek Your favor and
Your heart above all things!

Mighty God, I LOVE YOU
I see Your green eyes through the residue

of all life’s troubles, all life brings to discourage me…

Without Your HEART, Your loving care
I would view favor as despair

and I just want to sacrifice my praises ALL DAY LONG…

Because I only want You

Because I only want You

My Lord, all I really want… is You…
